Mikki is the founder of Village Eye Center and serves as the company’s president. Village Eye Center has 35 years of enormous success as an eye care business that passionately serves their clients and patients using superior product administered by world class Opticians and Optometrists.

She majored in Ophthalmic Dispensing at New York City College where she won awards for academic excellence. She is licensed to dispense eyewear in the state of New York and Virginia. Before starting Village Eye Center in 1976, she worked in various other eyecare practices learning procedures and preparing for what she wanted in her own boutiques.

Her dream to keep Opticianry a profession has withstood the test of time as proven by its being voted best in optical by Washington consumer’s checkbook for over 12 consecutive years. One of her greatest passions is hunting for the finest fashion and best lenses available on the market and bringing them with pride to her patients and customers.

Mikki is also a proud mother, loves gardening, taking long walks and reading.

William P. McConarty

Dr. McConarty joined our practice in 2002 and conducts examinations in all of our locations. He is one of the fewer than 5% of optometrists nationwide that have completed a hospital-based residency in ocular disease. His clinical skills include family comprehensive vision examinations, contact lens fittings, diagnosis & management of ocular disease conditions, and pre/post operative surgical care (Lasik, PRK, and Cataract). He is also certified in the use of therapeutic medications for the treatment of ocular disease.

Dr. McConarty is a native of Maryland and currently resides in Bethesda with his wife and baby daughter. He enjoys skiing, running, & golfing in his spare time.

The Ohio State University, College of Optometry, Columbus OH Doctor of Optometry, with Honors.

Baltimore VA Medical Center and Johns Hopkins University, Baltimore MD Residency in Hospital-Based Optometry & Ocular Disease.

Virginia Tech, Blacksburg VA, Bachelors of Science, Biology, Magna Cum Laude.
